Through the Match Grant program, World Relief strives to promote self-sufficiency to newly arrived refugees throughout their first six months. Through a $2 to $1 matching grant, provided by the Federal government, World Relief is able to offer social and employment services, temporary cash assistance and temporary rent/utility assistance that promote self-sufficiency and quick acclamation to the community. The Match Grant program also encourages the local community to get involved in the resettlement of newly arrived refugees, as volunteer hours, in-kind and cash donations all contribute to raising funds necessary for the $2 to $1 match to be unlocked.
